Original Equipment Manufacturer or OEM that is defined as a company who's products are used in products of another company, which is then sold as a finished good to customers. The second firm is referred to as the value-added reseller (VAR) because they add value to the original item by augmenting the features or services. The VAR works closely with OEM, who then can customize the design based on the VAR's needs and specifications.
