WorkClout's New Logo: Bridging the relationship between man and machine
Changing our logo seems like one of the lower priority tasks that we can work on, but we thought it was essential to have a logo that better reflected what we wanted our company to represent.

Our core mission that our company is in pursuit of is to enable the industrial workforce to perform to their highest potential. The best way to accomplish this mission is with technology.

However, in industrial sectors, there has always been a stigma between technology and the industrial workforce. The future envisioned by corporate leaders and feared by frontline workers is that of Industry 4.0. A future in which automation and advanced technologies would rapidly displace factory jobs and workers worldwide.

Luckily, for the most part - this prediction hasn't come to fruition at the rate people thought it would. According to the McKinsey and World Economic Forum (WEF) research, the state of Industry 4.0 reveals that leading industrial sectors have invested more significantly in people than ever before. And the importance of people has only intensified as the COVID-19 pandemic has swept across the globe.

The most significant investment a company can make that would both empower the frontline and improve their bottom line is by augmenting workers with technology, instead of replacing workers with technology.

That's what our company is trying to do - Bridge the relationship between man and machine.

We're connecting the workforce with data, machines, sensors, and software. We're attempting to kill the stigma of technology being something that replaces people, but instead seeing it as something that enhances people.

We wanted a logo that represents this.

In art, books, and movies, there have been many symbols that are allusions to Enlightenment. Enlightenment is an evolution that is triggered by an awakening.

In Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, the Enlightenment is present at the intersection of man and his creator.

In 2001: A Space Odyssey, chimpanzees interacted with the monolith and became humans, and then the astronauts interacted with the monolith and evolved into a higher species as well. The interaction with the monolith is the awakening event that triggers an enlightenment or evolution in each species.

These are some examples that heavily influenced our thought process in making this new logo. We believe Industry 4.0, where man and machine meet, is the triggering event for the next Enlightenment.

Here is the new logo:

The logo represents the relationship between machine and man - a block represents a machine, and the rounded block represents a human, they reach Enlightenment together, which is represented by the circle in the middle.
